Blancmange

One of the truly original English Synth pop acts and a major influence on everyone from Hot Chip to La Roux, Blancmange make their long awaited return in 2011 with a sparkling new album ‘blanc burn’ and UK tour.

Having originally released their first EP, the cult ‘Irene & Mavis’ back in 1980, and then blitzed the decade with stonewall classics like ‘Living On The Ceiling’, ‘Waves’, ‘Blind Vision’ and their cover (well before everyone else got in on the act) of Abba’s ‘The Day Before You Came’, the original line up of Stephen Luscombe and Neil Arthur have reformed after a 23 year absence.

Retaining the trademark fat analogue synth sounds which are so sought after by many of today’s artists and producers, it’s as if Blancmange never went away. Songs like the first single ‘Drive Me’, ‘Starfucker’ and ‘The Western’ featuring the Indian percussionist Pandit Dinesh, are confirmation they’ve lost none of their edge or pop sensibility.
